Terms of Use
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Draft template, not legal advice. Have it reviewed before relying on it.
1. Agreement
PaidNote is provided by Bradley Wikholm ("we", "us"). Your use of the PaidNote iPhone app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), together with these Terms. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict.
2. Subscriptions (PaidNote Pro)
- PaidNote is free to download, with a limited number of free documents. PaidNote Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly, that unlocks unlimited documents and Pro features. Current prices are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- If a free trial is offered and you're eligible, you won't be charged until the trial ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we can't issue refunds for App Store purchases.
- If you stop subscribing, documents you already created stay viewable and exportable.
3. Your content and responsibilities
You own the information you enter, including your business details, clients, documents, photos and signatures. You're responsible for its accuracy, for having the right to store your customers' information, for getting any consent your local law requires (for example before capturing a signature or taking photos on a customer's property), and for what you send and to whom. PaidNote never sends anything on your behalf.
4. Not tax, legal or accounting advice
PaidNote helps you prepare documents and totals, including tax amounts and a year-end report, based on what you enter. It doesn't provide tax, legal or accounting advice. Check your figures and talk to a qualified professional about your obligations.
5. Payment links
If you add a payment link from a third-party service to your invoices, your use of that service is between you and that provider. PaidNote doesn't process payments.
6. Backups and availability
Your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account, which we don't control. Keep iCloud on and export your data regularly. We aren't responsible for data loss caused by device loss, iCloud issues or deleting the app.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or lost profits or data, arising from your use of the app. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms. We'll post changes on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, USA, except where the Standard EULA or applicable law says otherwise.
